This is the second and final course in a two-part Executive Management and Nurse Leadership (NEML) capstone sequence. Students employ skills and knowledge gained throughout the MSN program to implement and evaluate a quality improvement project and disseminate their findings. Through the practicum experience, emphasis is placed on process and quality improvement, clinical reasoning, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development, and ethical principles needed for professional nursing practice. This course is structured to support student learners in organizational and systems leadership, quality and safety, and to develop leadership principles and practices. This course and practicum experience will require the student to engage in the clinical environment for 250 hours, in addition to coursework completion, over a 15-week semester.
