GNUR 605: Nursing Education Capstone I

This is the first course in a two-part nursing education capstone sequence. The purpose of this clinical course includes the development of in-depth knowledge and expertise in an identified area of advanced nursing practice. Students employ skills and knowledge gained throughout the MSN program to complete an
assessment of the assigned microsystem and develop a plan for an evidence-based clinical quality improvement project that includes the application of advanced conceptual knowledge in clinical practice experiences at the graduate level. Students analyze essential patient advocacy and education competencies to ensure delivery of high-quality care as an advanced practice nurse. The course will require the student to engage in the clinical environment for 230 hours.
