GNUR 570: Health Assessment and Clinical Reasoning for Advanced Nursing Practice

This clinical course focuses on the development of advanced-level clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning in the comprehensive assessment of individuals in diverse practice settings. Students develop advanced competencies in comprehensive health assessment, including the collection, analysis, and synthesis of physical and psychosocial data. Emphasis is placed on distinguishing normal from abnormal findings, and formulating prioritized clinical impressions to inform nursing care planning for acute and chronic health problems. Through a 40-hour precepted immersion experience, students engage in professional ethical comportment through presentation of clinical findings, interprofessional collaboration, and person-centered care.
